A bicycle built for 6????

Here we are pedaling on the boardwalk- at 9 am in the morning! And, just because we had 3 adults to pedal- does not mean this was an easy task! You don't realize just how out of shape you are until you try doing something like this! At one point, I asked a cop on the boardwalk to arrest me and take me away in hand cuffs- just so I could get off this thing!:) It may look fun, but it is hard! It was a great experience and I am glad that we got to do it....but I don't think I will be doing it again anytime soon! The kids loved being cheauffered around, and we took a few breaks to hit the beach! After our hour was up, we returned the bike and went to relax- by eating pizza for lunch...ha,ha!  Posted by Picasa

Just beachy!

Living so close to the beach is great...but it is very hard to take the kids during the Summer when it is such a tourist hot spot! The traffic and crowds are just too much to contend with! So, our kids get their beach time in the Fall...when everyone else goes home! Even though the water is much colder and they have to dress warmer...they don't mind! It is just part of the ups and downs of living near the beach! They had a wonderful time looking for shells and getting their feet wet...and it was a nice break from the biking!  Posted by Picasa

My beach babe!

Dabria had so much fun chasing waves and getting wet! Even though it was a dreary day and rough surf, she had a blast on the beach!  Posted by Picasa

Lunch at Nicola Pizza!

Our new favorite Rehoboth eatery! After burning all those calories biking, we indulged at Nicola Pizza....home of the famous "Nico-boli"! The kids loved seeing the little train making it's way round and round the restaurant!  Posted by Picasa

Before calling it a day...

We let the kids ride a few boardwalk rides, and tried to get a picture of the 3 of them by the beach....as you can see, Gunner refused to cooperate!  Posted by Picasa

Dabria's first day of school!

I can't believe my baby has headed off for Kindergarten- it doesn't seem possible! I think sending her off on the bus was much harder for me than for her- I fought back tears all day! She woke up very excited to go to school, which was such a nice surprise after our previous preschool disaster! It is a sign that she is really growing up, and although we will undoubtedly have some obstacles, I was so proud of my little girl this day! She put her brave face on and climbed up on that school bus, and although it may seem like a simple everyday task for many...it was a huge step for Dabria in overcoming some tough issues in the past months. Her first day went really well...better than anyone expected! Her teacher was thrilled with how well she did in class and called to let us know just how great she did! I nervously waited at the school bus stop that first day, and when she stepped down off the step- she burst into tears! I was fearing the worst...but after calming her down, she explained that school went great and she had a fun time, but the bus driver was very loud and yelling at all the kids on the way home, and she was just scared. So, after dealing with some bus issues, it seems school is something she is looking forward to and very excited about! We are so very proud of our little school girl! Way to go Dabria!  Posted by Picasa

Pseudo Sisters!

Dabria treats Shawnna just like a sister when she stays with us, and this is as close as I've come to getting a baby smile on camera- just had to share! Posted by Picasa

Labor Day...Pepsi style!

Every year, Pepsi holds it's annual company picnic at the Jolly Roger! Brian was fortunate to be able to get extra tickets, so we took the Hobie, Darah & the kids- and Nana came too! It was a long day filled with fun...the longest line was the food line- but it was worth the wait! Pepsi spared no expense for the day and we feasted on Fried chicken, burgers, hot dogs, macaroni/potato salad/cole slaw, baked beans, sweet potato buscuits, brownies & cookies....and of course all you could drink Pepsi products! This was the second year we attended, and as long as Brian stays with Pepsi, we will continue ! It is one of the only times we make it to Ocean City...we live so close, but we refuse to fight the tourists over summertime! So, for a great day, thanks Pepsi! (I mean, for us having to pay over 100.00 per week for our health insurance, it's the least you can do:)  Posted by Picasa

Splash Mountain Water Park...

at Jolly Roger, Ocean City, MD Ready for a splashin' good time!  Posted by Picasa

OK, we're hooked!

...on the Jolly Roger! Dabria and Emma pose for a picture before heading off to the pool! And, in the third picture...since we can't go on any family trips without a visit to the first aid station- here's Dabria, after getting bandaged up after a fall! She slipped and knocked her elbow open yet again!!! I think this elbow will have a permanent scar- it hasn't healed all Summer long!  Posted by Picasa

Kiddie Pool!

Gunner, Dabria and Emma spent a vast majority of our time at The Jolly Roger in the kiddie pools! It was really nice because Pepsi reserved the entire waterpark section, so it was just the Pepsi employees and their families- which meant plenty of room for all the little ones to play!  Posted by Picasa
