Tis' the Season!

Well, one thing is for sre...Santa was at our house, and according to the number of gifts under the tree, Dabria was a very good girl this year! (Now I can't threaten to call Santa every time she misbehaves!...That worked quite well!) This is the first in the last couple of years that we didn't hear the words " Where are more presents?" when she was through unwrapping her stash! It took over 2 hours for her to open her gifts (which probably took me more than 8 hours to wrap!) Her favorite item???? She just loved the Peter Pan Pirate Ship! Amazing Amanda came in second...which it better have (who pays 100.00 for a talking doll anyway?) We spent Christmas Eve with the Brewington Crew. A nice dinner, lots of pictures, and church at 7....where Dabria inquired in the middle of the service, "Mommy...why does he keep saying that bad word??(meaning Jesus Christ)" My face, ten shades of red, replied, "Well, it's not a bad word when you are in church..." Oh my...we really need to get to church more often, and I guess we need to start a swear jar as well:) Now, we will be heading to PA this weekend for yet another Christmas celebration, and New Years Day...which also marks Grandpa's 60th birthday! Tis the season!

Ahoy Matey!

The new craze...everything pirate! Dabria has found a new movie to obsess over, Peter Pan, which is a welcome change to her daily viewing enjoyment! I think I know her 5 favorite DVD's by heart! So, we got this pirate set at the Disney Store, and she posed as a pirate! Good thing....since I heard Santa is bringing her a Peter Pan ship with characters for Christmas! She actually began to show interest in pirates and ships after I took her through the "Treasures of the Sea" exhibit at school one day, which showcased a shipwreck. I really thought she would be bored, but she was so excited and kept asking questions, and wanted to stay! (Even I was bored with it and I am a history freak!) One thing you can definitely say about Dabria...she is one well-rounded girl! Now, she is asking for a patch.....hmmmm:)

Sunday night visit to Santa!

Sunday evening, after a long, busy weekend, we took the kids (Dabria, Emma & Gunner) to see Santa! They got to see all Santa's reindeer, and even Mrs. Claus was there! We were told Santa was making a brief stop in Georgetown before heading back to the North Pole to put the finishing touches on Christmas! Santa was in his own little cottage, and was even watching football! (Not even Santa can miss Sunday football!) Dabria told him she wants a gun, and Dora's talking kitchen...(neither of which Santa is bringing her...ha-ha!) ...so I took some pictures on my new camera! I tried to get pictures of Dabria on Santa's sleigh....but was told by a little elf that Santa would not appreciate anyone being on his sleigh! Ooops! :)

Celebrating Christmas...Family Style!

We had an early, but wonderful Christmas over the weekend with Mom-Mom & Pop-Pop, Aunt Sandy, Uncle James, Micayla & Payten, Aunt Chris, Carolyn & Tyelar, and Aunt Emma (although she wasn't there physically...she sent her gifts and Christmas spirit with Aunt Chris from Philly!) Sandy spent the majority of the day cooking for all of us, and our 2:00 dinner turned into a 4:30 dinner, but it was worth the wait! We then spent the rest of the entire evening opening gifts, which literally filled the house! We must have all been very good this year! There are way too many gifts to list, but I will say we were all thrilled with our loot! Dabria got her first couple sets of Thomas the Train...and she is just having a ball playing with it! My most prized possession of the evening was the new digital camera from Aunt Chris, which literally brought me to tears! Hey, I am a sapp, what can I say? It will allow me to get tons more pictures up on this web site for our families and friends to enjoy! We also got a new stainless steel microwave to replace our "possessed one!" We had a wonderful time spending the entire day/night with everyone....we look forward to these times, because with everyone living a couple hours away- they come few and far between! So, thanks to everyone for a very Merry early Christmas!

Finally...Introducing the newest member of our clan!

He is 5 months old ...and such a sweetheart! Meet Jarren, the newest addition, and grandchild #5 of the family! He is growing way too fast, and I am amazed at how much he changes every time we see him (which isn't as often as we'd like to!) But he and big brother Jansen live 3 hours away- so it makes it tough for regular visits! We are really looking forward to getting to spend some time with all of our PA family over the holidays...and maybe he won't get so upset this time when he sees Aunt Dayna's "big" hair! He would look at me...his eyes getting wider, and then break into a a scared whimper- all the time staring at my hair! Funny, yes...but true! So Jarren...Aunt Dayna promises to try to tame her wild mane, so she can get one of those priceless, heart-melting smiles! Love you bunches!

Christmas Card Shoot....

Every year, we gather the kids and torture them until we get that perfect Christmas shot with the camera! This year, they fully cooperated and we got some really cute pictures! Of course, they are not perfect, but what fun would it be to have perfect pictures? This way, their true individual personalities show through! They were so good....( I won't mention some of the tactics we used to get them to smile...but I will say- Darah's rendition of "Ripped Pants SpongeBob" definately did the trick!) So, enjoy the priceless pics of our annual Christmas Card Photo Shoot, Edition 2005! And have a very merry, wonderful Christmas!
