Two pairs of new cool school shoes!

Well, the hot fall color scheme that seems to be hitting the stores is a pink/brown combination...so we ended up with 2 new pairs of shoes for school! We bought a few new outfits at The Chilren's Place last weekend, and these shoes will be the perfect companions! Dabria's feet have grown 2 full sizes since last Fall ! Posted by Picasa

These boots are made for walkin'...and that's just what they'll do...

Dabria loves her new pink cowboy boots! Mommy is still deciding ....but, I figured- she doesn't ever complain about what clothes she wears- she will wear anything I put on her...so when she insisted she had to have the boots, I agreed! It is the first time I ever saw her get excited about shopping, and the first fashion statement she has made! I'm sure they will get many miles on them! Posted by Picasa

Add some color to your world!

Dabria got some new markers to draw with...but not just any markers.....SMELLY markers! I think there was more ink on her nose than the paper ! Cherry was her favorite! She certainly is quite the little artist...she will sit for hours and draw! Posted by Picasa

Our fun day on the bay!

Grandpa invited us for a boat ride and some fishing with him and Whopper. We got out on the water at 11am, and spent the next 3 hours trying to find the elusive fish of the bay! I will toot my own horn, and point out that I caught the most fish- 2!! Whopper finally got a bite and let Dabria reel in the 3rd and final catch of the day! Dabria loved riding on the boat and getting splashed...the weather was gorgeous, and we had a "reel-y" great time!! Thanks Grandpa! Posted by Picasa

Grandpa, Can I drive the boat????

I believe the answer was "Yes...in about 10 years!" He might let her help him drive next time....brave guy- I've seen this child drive bumper cars, and it aint pretty!! Posted by Picasa

Mommy's fish!

I caught 2 of the 3 total fish we caught! All croakers. Before i could hand Grandpa the camera, my fish let go of the minnow, and flopped to the floor. So, Grandpa & Dabria posed with the catch of the day! Whopper looks on in envy! Ha, ha! Posted by Picasa

Dabria tried and tried to catch a fish! We caught her throwing gold fish crackers in the water to feed the fish! No wonder they weren't biting our minnows! Posted by Picasa

Bible School!

Dabria finally got to go to Bible School this year, and she just loved it! She remembered her bible verses and loved making crafts and playing games with the other kids. On the final night, we went to watch the closing ceremonies. Here, her and Emma are competing to win a pinata by answering questions from the things they learned throughout the week. Emma proudly won, when she recited a bible verse by memory! Way to go Emma! And, she even agreed to share the pinata with all her cousins....awww! Posted by Picasa

Babyface!

I love this picture of Shawnna! She was outside listening to the chimes in her car seat with this quizzical look on her face! Posted by Picasa

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a.....

NUK! She still didn't have the whole pacifier thing down....if you put it in her mouth, it would pop right back out! Posted by Picasa

Rock-a-bye baby!

Brian also loved having a baby around...he is great at rocking them to sleep!Dabria was so proud that she got to "hold" Shawnna- she felt like a "real" big girl! Posted by Picasa

Mommy's helper!

Dabria would love the chance to be a big sister...so she was so excited to help me take care of the baby for a few days. She was so sweet and loving, and I know that one day- she will make a great big sister! Posted by Picasa

Baby Love...

My friend Kerri has temporary custody of a sweet set of boy/girl twins. They are children of a close friend of hers who isn't able to care for them right now. Kerri has struggled, as I have, through 4 + years of infertility treatments to add to our families. So, although she knew it would be heartbreaking when they have to leave, she jumped at the chance to be a mommy, if only for a short while. These babies are simply precious. They were born 10 weeks premature, but have come a long way in almost 3 months. I have had the pleasure of helping out and got to bring this sweet pea pictured here, home with me for a few days! Meet Shawnna....a.k.a. "sweet pea" Posted by Picasa

One of the babies that Kerri is taking care of...this is little Joey, or "Boog" as he is affectionately called!  Posted by Picasa

Having a "ball" in Tennessee!

We were very excited to be going on a weeks vacation with Mom Mom & Pop Pop to visit Tennessee! We stayed at Fairfield Glade resort in Crossville, TN. We left home Friday night to make the 5 hour trip to Richmond, and then woke up early for another 10 hour drive to Tennessee! Dabria was so well behaved for such a long trip! She kept busy playing her V-tech and watching movies on her DVD player! Being in central TN, meant we were also on Central time- which actually messed us up all week. You wouldn't think an hour makes much of a difference, but it really did. Especially since the time change was only 15 minutes away...it was hard to keep track of what time zone we were in! As always, the week went way too fast, but we really enjoyed our time there! Thanks to Mom Mom & Pop Pop for treating us to a wonderful vacation filled with lots of happy memories and good times! As Dabria proudly displays here....we had a ball!!! Posted by Picasa

This was Dabria's spot when it was time to eat- she had the whole counter to herself (where she consumed many brownies throughout the week!) Posted by Picasa

Dabria getting comfy on Mom Mom & Pop Pop's king size bed! The three of us shared a room with 2 twin beds and an air mattress- we felt like the Flintstones:) Goodnight Wilma! Goodnight Fred! Goodnight Pebbles! It actually worked out perfectly- Brian and I didn't have to share covers:) which is always a good thing! Posted by Picasa

Can I play too?

Dabria tried to join in a game of tether ball! I was proud that she made the effort to try to play with kids she doesn't know...that was a huge step for her! Posted by Picasa
